RedSpace was delighted to take part in this year’s International Women in Engineering Day (INWED).
We visited QinetiQ’s site in Farnborough and spent the day sharing our passion for engineering in the space domain with girls from the local primary and secondary schools.
Visitors learned about the challenges in building equipment for space, and demonstrated how to put on a clean room suit for highly controlled contamination missions like ExoMars. We also did a few experiments, showing what happens to marshmallows and shaving foam when exposed to vacuum.
